PresenTense, an Israel based non-profit, promotes an inclusive society, one where diverse communities are equally represented in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Israel, known as the ‘Startup Nation’.

We believe that entrepreneurship is the 21st century’s superpower that enables individuals and communities to take part in exponential economic growth. In our unique innovative programs, we provide this superpower, working from the bottom up with socially marginalized communities.

While Tel Aviv is ranked as the sixth global startup ecosystem, Israel is rated poorest among the OECD countries. This paradox is evident in Gini’s index for measuring financial inequality, which places Israel in the lower third. While the ‘Startup Nation’ thrives, these socio-economic inequalities rapidly increase.

As pioneers in the field of social impact in Israel, we were the first to identify these gaps and consequently ran the first accelerator for the Arab society, the first accelerator for ultra-orthodox women, the first accelerator focused on Assistive Technology and the first accelerators in many peripheral cities, including Lod, Ofakim, Ashkelon and more. This is how we level the playing field, create inclusiveness and reduce socio-economic inequalities in Israel.

Working from the bottom up, reaching the
entire community

We focus on working with young adults from diverse and socially marginalized communities through Community Building which includes local meetups, events, workshops and tours. We provide vital tools through our Entrepreneurial Programs and Accelerators. Our Startup School exposes youth in high schools at the periphery to the opportunities of the ‘Startup Nation’. With ‘Train the Trainer‘ we ensure continuity and lasting impact, by qualifying local leaders and change agents.

In 2015 we established the first accelerator in Lod, with the Lod Youth Center (Hatachana)- Made in Lod. The accelerator supports idea-stage technological startups, with the support of the Maof and the Small and Medium Business Agency of Israel’s Ministry of Economics.

We established Whizz, the first technological accelerator in Ashkelon with the Ashkelon Youth Center and with the support of the Maof and the Small and Medium Business Agency of Israel’s Ministry of Economics.

In 2013 we led A3i, the first accelerator for Assistive Technology together with Beit Issie Shapiro. The accelerator accompanied 40 impact startups. The program was funded by The Roderman Foundation and The Greater Federation of Los Angeles.

With the development of the Impact field in Israel, we established A3i LEAP, a first of its kind Scalarator for Assistive Technology startups in the MVP stage, in order to help them scale up to the next stage. The program was funded by The The Greater Federation of Los Angeles.

We established Q-Start, a technological accelerator in Bakaa El-Garbia in collaboration with El-Qasami College. The participants were local students and entrepreneurs and it was funded by the Citi Foundation.

In 2013 we established Mubadren, with the support of JFNA, an accelerator for the Bedouin society in collaboration with the Hura municipality. The accelerator supported 20 entrepreneurs in launch their businesses.

In 2016, with the growth of the community in Jerusalem, we identified a need for accompanying social organizations in their scaling to the next stage. With the support of the Leichtag Foundation, wWe established LEAP, the first social scalerator.

In 2009, with the support of the Leichtag Foundation, we established Yazamim, the first social accelerator in Israel. Participants were from all diverse communities in the city.

With support from the Ness Metrowest Fund and in collaboration with the Ofakim Youth Center, we established Yazamim in Ofakim, an accelerator for the local community. The accelerator accompanied startups, social and business ventures.

We led Hameitz, the first entrepreneurship accelerator in Beer-Sheva in partnership with Eretz-Ir and with the support of the Ness Metrowest Fund. The accelerator hosted local entrepreneurs building social and business ventures.

In 2013 we established Yazamiot, the first accelerator for women from the Ultraorthodox community in partnership with Temech. As of today, 60 women successfully completed the program and launched new businesses. The accelerator was funded by The Women of Hadassa Foundation and and the Levi Lassen Foundation.

LEAP Haifa is a technological scalarator for startups led by entrepreneurs from the Arab society. LEAP Haifa provides tools for second round fund-raising and penetrating international markets. The scalerator was supported by Citi Foundation and in partnership with UK Tech Hub and Takwin.

In 2013 we established the first technological accelerator in the Arab society in collaboration with the Nazareth Business Center. The accelerator was supported by Cisco and Citi Foundation.

Workshops

Our pioneering programs are available in various scales for diverse audiences. Our curriculum is based on innovative methodologies from top international business schools including Harvard and Stanford. We offer entrepreneurship workshops, seminars, innovation labs and accelerators.

Consulting Services

We provide entrepreneurial development consulting services to emerging hubs and communities. Our customers include municipalities, government offices, businesses, leadership programs, civil organizations, youth movements, young adults organizations and more.

Our team is composed of entrepreneurs, leaders, social activists and experts with multi-disciplinary knowledge, including the public, business and social sectors.
