Three Jews who will change Cleveland?

PresenTense, an Israel-based program to encourage young Jewish social entrepreneurs, has partnered with the Jewish Federation of Cleveland to create a pilot program to develop three innovative Jewish ventures put forth by Cleveland community members.

After a rigorous application process, the 2010 Cleveland PresenTense fellows have been chosen: Madeline Bleiweiss, whose proposed venture involves building social networks and fostering young Jewish life; Noah Sudow, who is working to foster academic, intellectual and economic cooperation between Israeli and Northeast Ohio-based researchers; and Jenny Kaufman, who is creating a local independent minyan to increase Jewish engagement.

The three fellows will be sent to The PresenTense Summer Institute, a six-week training program in Jerusalem, where they will connect with innovators from around the world and develop the resources to bring their ideas to sustainable fruition.

Upon returning to Cleveland, they will take part in “boardroom hopping” to meet Cleveland’s most accomplished entrepreneurs and gain advice from their mentorship.

In the final six months of the program, the fellows will receive a stipend and professional support as they work in the community to fully develop and formalize their ideas.
