Internship Positions
Event Planning
Assist Institute Coordinator with the running of the summer institute. Organize shabbatonim, day trips, local Jerusalem activities, and help plan the Final Launch night. Oversee and develop materials, ensure completion of necessary components to the program, and assist the Jerusalem Institute Coordinator in every aspect of the program.
Skills: Conversational Hebrew, organized, previous experience planning events or programs, personable, work under pressure, hard working, takes initiative.
Graphic Design
Tasks: Work with PresenTense's in-house graphic designer to produce materials for PresenTense and for Fellows. Projects include marketing materials and logos for PresenTense fellows, invitations for the institute's final event, design and layout of the summer mini-issue.
Skills: Previous design experience, self-starter, team-oriented. Please include two examples of previous work in your application.
Tech and Media
Help develop existing media component to feature social enterprise across various channels, build and improve existing media (website, video streams, online radio). Develop website content and assist in building new modules and features for the website. Film institute sessions, upload and format movies and audio, create an online media library, and oversee the Flickr account.
Skills: Fluent in social network platforms, comfortable with multimedia tools for capture and distribution (video, audio, photography), generally tech-savvy. Experience in Web apps, Web 2.0 technologies, and programming languages PHP, Drupal and Flash are a plus.
Assessment
Learn and implement the important discipline of program design and evaluation, and get in-the-field practice of social science qualitative and quantitative research. The Assessment Intern will learn how to be an organizational consultant, to assess the success of the institute, organizational systems, and management structures. The intern will be mentored by an institute co-director with many years of experience in management and assessment. This internship is more akin to one found at a management consulting firm, with a focus on strategy and analysis, except it's a lot more hands-on with the opportunity to shape the internship and work directly with the heads of the institute.
Skills: Understands research methodologies, excellent writing skills, personable, analytical, self-motivated, creative, organized.
Social Media and Public Relations
Skills: Media savvy, fluent in social network platforms, strong writing skills, familiar with Jewish and mainstream media outlets, journalism experience a plus, quick learner.
Magazine
Coordinate the production of the mini-issue, a 16-page short issue featuring interviews with fellows and articles about the summer institute. Expand the reach of PresenTense Magazine in North American and Israel by researching new markets for advertising opportunities, researching new markets for magazine distribution, coordinating mass mailing of magazine.
Skills: Journalism experience, motivated, self-starter, organized, excellent writing and research skills.
