I have devoted my career to the Jewish community. At my core, I am a community builder. I have dedicated my professional life to supporting the Jewish community, and I find fulfillment in my personal life by building a small, vibrant and supportive Jewish community of friends. I love creating atmospheres for good conversations that deepen friendships and have the potential to enhance community. For as long as I can remember I have loved to design systems or ventures to solve problems I identified. Soon after I moved to Philadelphia, friends met in my living room and created a peer-led, spirited, egalitarian minyan. I am proud to say that seven years later, the minyan continues on with new leadership. This year I am excited about the potential of a new kind of matchmaking venture to benefit the Philadelphia Jewish community; and I look forward to exploring it through this Fellowship.

The problem? Despite the strength of JDate, the organizations that serve young local Jews, and the pool of 250,000 Jews in Philadelphia, many find it difficult to meet suitable people and begin dating. The Solution? A contracted service to arrange first-dates with compatible people. Combine the personal touch of the traditional Jewish matchmaker with the knowledge of the young community in Greater Philadelphia and the efficiency of new technologies. Potential clients will meet the matchmaker for an initial conversation to explore what the client looking for, and the specifics of the contractual relationship wit the matchmaker. For a fee, the matchmaker identifies a match, and arranges a mutually convenient time and location. After the date, each party will share feedback with the matchmaker, which will aid subsequent introductions. If the date goes well, clients exchange contact information, and the relationship progresses without further matchmaker help.
